What is a browser based game?
A game which requires only a browser to play. There are no plugins or downloads required. In tarsus you will be playing against other real players who are also trying to build their empire.
How do I start?
When you register your empire, 5 new planets are created that belong to you, one of these planets will be your planet which cannot be taken over by your enemies. There are also fleets of ships placed around each planet which also belong to you. You can access these by moving your mouse over the 'fleets' or 'planets' from the menu at the top.
Whats the difference between fleets and ships?
Fleets are made up of one or more ships. When moving a fleet the fleets speed is limited by the slowest ship in that fleet. When attacking another fleet or planet all the ships in this fleet are used during combat.
How do I know which Fleets are mine?
Your fleets are shown as green icons on the map
Your enemies fleets are shown as red icons on the map
Your allies are shown as blue icons on the map
Also if you click on any fleet (or planet) it will tell you who they belong to on the right hand side
How do I build a new ship?
Ships are built from any planets that you own. First click on a planet that you own (either from the top menu or directly on the map) then choose build ships. Then you will be given several options on which ships and types to build. Any ships you build are placed into a new fleet nearby the planet they were built from.
How do I move one of my fleets?
Select one of your fleets either from the main map or from the top menu, you will then be shown white squares of where you can move that fleet. Clicking one of these white squares will move your fleet to that position
How do I attack another fleet?
Select one of your fleets either from the main map or from the top menu, then click attack and if your fleet is directly next to an enemy fleet you can click on the enemy fleet to perform the attack. The results of the attack will then be shown on the right hand side.
How do I conquer another planet?Select one of your planets either from the main map or from the top menu, then click attack and if your fleet is directly next to an enemy planet you can click on the enemy planet to perform the attack. Why cant I attack another planet?
There are several reasons why you may not be able to attack an enemy planet:
You cannot attack an enemies home planet
You must first destroy any enemy ships around an enemy planet
Your ship must be in range of that enemy planet to attack it
The owner of the enemy planet maybe too small compared to you for you to attack them
How do I make alliances?
If you click on any enemy planet or fleet there is an option to send an alliance request. The other empire has to accept this request for you to become allies.
